The AISTS Sustainable Sport & Event (SSE) Open Module returns in 2019.  The 2-day module will provide participants with an understanding of the current challenges and opportunities of sustainability in sport and how to apply these to events.  

This seminar is about the “how”. How sports organisations are stepping up to slow down climate change. How they ensure that sport continues to have a positive impact on society without a negative impact on the environment and how to understand the lifecycle of an event. 

Participants will learn from the speakers and from each other about the various ways of integrating sustainability into the core of their businesses, be it a temporary endeavor such as an event or in their daily operations.  

Throughout both days, group work and discussions will challenge the existing ideas of sustainability in sport, with a particular focus on the business case for sustainability while simultaneously addressing the demands of multiple stakeholders. 2019 speakers include the International Olympic Committee, Formula E, Lausanne 2020 and more.   

The 2019 Open Module will take place in the new home of the AISTS at the Synathlon located on the Unil Campus in Lausanne, Switzerland.
