Sport industry leaders debate latest trends and issues at Lausanne Summit

Some of the industry’s leading federations, broadcasters and rights holders gathered in the Olympic Museum on 25 September 2018 for iSportconnect’s Lausanne Summit. The event, powered by PwC, in association with ThinkSport, brought together top-level speakers and high-ranking delegates from across the globe to discuss various issues, opportunities and trends currently impacting the sport business industry.

Topics discussed at the summit included: Media – The Search For New Models; Sponsorship: How To Drive Return On Investment; Esports – Opportunity or Illusion for Traditional Sports;and The Evolving Role of International Federations.

Key speakers at the 2018 Lausanne Summit included Felix Blank, Director of Digital Platforms at Sportradar, David Dellea, Director of Sports Business Advisory at PwC, Joey Tan, Head of Global Strategic Initiatives, Alibaba Group, Daniel Marion, Chief of ICT at UEFA, Candice Mudrick, Senior Client Director, Newzoo, and Andrew Ryan, Executive Director at ASOIF.

In its third edition, PwC’s Sports Survey collected the views of 470 sport industry leaders on a wide variety of trends that are prevalent in today’s market. This annual report captures the industry’s collective wisdom on its growth prospects and the key threats it is facing. Additionally, it features three deep dives assessing the future of the sports media landscape, how to drive ROI through sports sponsorship going forward, and how to approach the fast-growing space of esports.
