ThinkSport Monthly

Dear friends of sport,

This week, we have been busy moving offices and have now more space in the brand new Synathlon building on the UNIL Campus, just next to the sports fields. Our new neighbours include academic partners and other members from our network, such as AISTS, FISU and ISSUL.

Our new offices are even closer to the location of The SPOT, our new flagship event, taking place from 15 to 16 May 2018 in the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne. The event is coming together nicely and we already have a line-up of exciting guest speakers from various sectors. This newsletter features two of them in more detail and we will keep introducing our innovation spotters to you in the coming weeks. Recently, we have also released detailed information about the benefits for start-ups and the international start-up competition which will also be part of The SPOT. It is great to see that 12 national and international incubators and more than 20 innovative start-ups are already on board.

Last but not least we would like to draw your attention to an upcoming workshop about the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the New Swiss Act on Data Protection (LPD), which may affect both your own activities and as well as stakeholders. Described by many as the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years, the GDPR will have a significant impact on sport organisations, athletes, event managers and the transfer of medical data in the area of anti-doping. The event is organised jointly by Wiz-Team and Libra Law, in association with ThinkSport, with a certain number of places reserved for our members.

Happy reading and visit us soon in our new offices! There is good coffee and warm tea waiting for you.

Stay warm in these arctic temperatures, yours,
Anna Hellman, Director of ThinkSport
