The mission of the sports department of the City of Lausanne is to manage sport infrastructures, organise school sports extra curricular activities (Sports-passion programme), help with the organisation of sports events at every level, support local sport through subsidies and promote Lausanne as the Olympic Capital. It also acts as an adviser to the Municipality with regards to sport policies and handles the follow up on the same.
