ThinkSport welcomes Nicolas Evans from FIFA to its Board

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Nicolas Evans, Head of Research & Standards at FIFA, as the newest member of the ThinkSport Board. With a unique blend of experience spanning sports technology, cutting-edge research, and sports regulation across numerous sports, we look forward to leveraging his expertise to drive ThinkSport's strategy and vision further.

Over his career, Nicolas has been a proponent of evidence-based data-driven decision-making in sports and the driving force behind concrete initiatives being implemented at FIFA World Cups and all the way down the sports pyramid. With his extensive background in spearheading the establishment of internationally recognised standards such as Electronic Performance and Tracking Systems, VAR systems, and the creation of the FIFA Innovation Programme, which closely engages with the startup ecosystem, we are excited to learn from his experiences and implement his ideas across our activities.

“This appointment presents an exciting opportunity to further collaborate with industry leaders and help drive impactful innovation that transcends the boundaries of sport. I have long advocated for evidence-based, empirical research to be at the heart of any new developments, and any new technology must meet actual needs. It has become evident that solving these issues requires not only a collaborative but also a concerted approach. Through its unique positioning and with the work ThinkSport does on the intersection of innovation and sport I believe it can help navigate this very dynamic and quickly evolving ecosystem. I hope to be able to play a small part in this endeavour”

he said about joining the ThinkSport Board.

Welcome to the ThinkSport Team; our ecosystem is very excited to have you on board.
