Application phase is open for AISTS Master of Advanced Studies

The AISTS Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) programme is a 15-month programme that commences at the end of September each year. Endorsed by the IOC and co-signed by the EPFL, the University of Lausanne and the University of Geneva, the AISTS sports management programme attracts over 200 aspiring sports managers each year. A class of 35-40 is selected.

The next edition will commence in September 2019 and conclude in December 2020, with the next application deadline being set for 1 February 2019.

The AISTS MAS programme applies a practical approach to learning with:

  • 50% of lectures given by industry experts;
  • a Client Team Project where participants work in groups on a real topic for a real client for 9 months; and
  • an individual research paper.

Courses are designed to provide participants with a 360° knowledge of what is required to be a sports manager and covers five main disciplines in management, sociology, technology, medicine and law. Additional topics such as anti-doping, sport event management and sport sustainability apply a transdisciplinary approach.

More than 500+ AISTS MAS alumni have moved on to work for international sport federations and governing bodies, as well as the IOC and other sport-related corporations in areas such as anti-doping, development, bidding & events, media & broadcasting, marketing & sponsorship.

Who should apply?
The AISTS sports management programme is targeted at candidates who have a university degree and previous work experience but wish to re-orientate their career in the sports industry.  Experience in the sports industry is therefore not a prerequisite but experiences related to sport is a plus.
