International Federations meet École hôtelière de Lausanne

The École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), one of the world’s leading hotel management schools, played host this week to representatives from eleven International Federations (IFs) who were keen to learn more about hospitality and protocol in sports event management. 

Facilitated by ThinkSport, the three-day workshop focused on areas critical to event delivery, including service excellence; the needs of internal & external clients; how to make a first impression at receptions and meetings; and diplomatic protocol.

The programme featured presentations, discussions and group exercises, and participants said they enjoyed learning more about the EHL and about each other. The sessions on protocol offered an interesting focus on cultural differences and the importance of knowing country-specific traditions.

Given the success of the workshop, a second edition is already in the planning.
