How to get to THE SPOT
THE SPOT will take place on 15 and 16 May at the SwissTech Convention Center, located on the EPFL Campus in Lausanne:
SwissTech Convention Center
Quartier Nord EPFL
Route Louis-Favre 2
The location is easily accessible both by public transport and by car. However, due to the limited number of parking places close to the SwissTech Convention Center, we strongly encourage you to use public transport..
The SwissTech Convention Center is accessible by metro M1 from Renens train station or the city center of Lausanne. From the stop “Ecublens VD, EPFL”, the Convention Centre is only a short walk away. Trains run every 5 minutes and the journey from either Renens or Lausanne Flon will take you no longer than 15 minutes.
Another option is to take the M2 from Lausanne station (gare) or from Lausanne Flon. Learn more about this option here.
If you prefer to take a taxi, it will cost approximately 35-40 CHF from Lausanne station (gare).
The SwissTech Convention Center is 2 minutes away from the highway exit “Lausanne Sud, UNIL-EPFL”. There are some public parking spaces located 5 minutes away by foot. Lear more about this option here.
Another option is to park your car at Bourdonnette and then take the metro line M1 from there (4 stations).
Event details and conference programme

At the end of Day 1 we hope you will join us for our social event at Gotham, Lausanne’s biggest co-working space, beginning at 7h00 p.m. We will take the metro together from the conference centre to Lausanne station. For those of you who joining us later, the address for Gotham is:
Avenue d’Ouchy 4
On the second day, 16 May, doors will open at 9h00 a.m. Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus will get things underway with his reflections on “Social Business and Sport” at 9h30 a.m.
If you take a closer look at the conference programme, you will discover several talkback sessions. The idea is for this to be an informal, interactive, thought-provoking conversation between the people on stage, and the people in the audience – a dialogue that embraces new ideas, connections outside the ordinary, and tries to approach the topic from an unusual perspective. The SwissTech Convention Center will be 'open plan' with various events happening simultaneously, in a casual atmosphere. The conference is open to everyone, and delegates are encouraged to 'dip in and out' of the sessions that most appeal to them.
On Day 1 starting at 10h15, 40 innovative young companies will go toe to toe in a start-up battle where investors, experts from International Sports Federations, and business leaders will be on hand as scrutineers for each 3-minute pitch. There will be four preliminary rounds before the final. In the final, scheduled from 17h15 to 18h15, you will be invited to have your say in the crowning of the eventual champion by casting your vote.
The SPOT is all about networking and exchanging ideas. We hope you will get to know the many other interesting minds, coming from a variety of sectors, that will be in attendance. Use our Delegate App to find out more about the other participants and to pre-schedule meetings. You will be able to meet with them face-to-face in our lounge area and there are also spaces for investors and media. Click here for the floor plan.
Free morning coffee and croissants, lunch and free beverages will be available to keep you well-fuelled on both days.
