Watching Ski Races from a Virtual Point of View
Ski races terrain and gates modelling as well as racers trajectory determination.
Our contribution was to model the terrain from aerial photography and to determine the coordinates of the gates to be included in the model of the landscape. Also, we determined the trajectory of the racers. This allowed for detailed comparisons of racers, techniques and equipment, thus enhancing the efficiency of the training.
The visualization was handled by LCAV. This project was conducted for the Ski World Championship St-Moritz 2003.
