As part of a joint research program between the University of Geneva and Keio University, this second workshop aims to go further into details regarding the presentations and exchanges of the first workshop hold at Geneva last year on October 5th, 2017. This time, the nature and the inter-relations of three key-notions will be questioned and discussed in particular: governance, sustainability, and legacy (or legacies) of Olympic Games and major events.

The choice of those three notions is justified by the recent debates that occurred at the United Nations (through the SDGs), the International Olympic Committee (through the Olympic charter), the Olympic Study Centre, and the committees and local governments organizing the next OGs. The presentations and discussions will emphasize on drivers, barriers, and gaps in current understanding that need to be addressed.
