Promising start for Lucerne 2021 Haskins Innovation Challenge

Last weekend, the 2021 Haskins Innovation Challenge took off successfully with a great crowd of motivated participants, fantastic speakers and supportive mentors who engaged in exciting networking opportunities, team building and…after work drinks. Watch this!

The line-up of speakers at the event, held in Lausanne, included:

• Jean-Loup Chappelet, Professor at IDHEAP;
• Vincent Ducret, Head of Competency Center at Philip Morris International;
• Paulo Ferreira, Director General at FISU;
• Todd Harple, Innovation Consultant at the IOC;
• Junjie Li, Project Manager at ASOIF; and
• Michael Payne, Chairman and CEO at Payne Sports.

The 2021 Haskins Innovation Challenge is co-organised by the Haskins Sport Society, the HUB Entrepreneurship and Innovation of UNILLucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Swiss University SportsThinkSport, and with the support of FISU. It aims to reinvent the major sport event of tomorrow as part of the Lucerne 2021 Winter Universiade legacy. Designed by students for students, participants from Swiss universities will develop smart ideas on innovative and sustainable sport events, which guarantee positive legacies for the host region and its population. An exciting chance to make an impact, help reshape the future of sport and pitch the best concepts to a knowledgeable audience at the final event during the Universiade in December! Learn more at https://haskinschallenge.ch.

Next step for the participants: A Design Thinking Online Workshop on 2 November to learn new approaches and receive tools to solve problems and develop ideas.
