VORN Team crowned Sport Hackdays winner and invited to THE SPOT 2023

VORN and their student team are the winners of this year’s Sport Hackdays, organised last weekend by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU). The winning project aims at providing objective measures to help judges making fairer ratings in freestyle skiing and, at the same time, engaging with fans. The team therefore designed a smart shirt capable of measuring different metrics related to human movement and physiology. While hacking for the world of sport, they went toe-to toe with four other ambitious teams, all working on different challenges in the field of data-driven innovations.

With ThinkSport as an official supporter of the Sport Hackdays, the winners have been invited to participate in the 2023 edition of THE SPOT, which will take place on 8 and 9 May next year.

About the Sport Hackdays
The event allows students to meet with tech companies, clubs, organisations and athletes to create data-driven innovations and develop prototypes and business models for use in sports. The goal is to help the national and international sports world move forward by means of smart and creative data solutions relating to performance, sponsorship and fan engagement. The participating students are invited to tackle different challenges with the challenge owners (companies and sport organisations), data community members, data scientists and ideators.
