Development of a new database and web application dedicated to the management of sport events.

The FIG, through Tabrasco SA, asked GAPS to develop for them a database with a web application in order to manage the events linked to the seven different gymnastics disciplines. 

The goal is to define for each event, which are the different disciplines, age categories, and apparatus categories involved. The different national federations can offer events, subscribe online to events and then register their athletes. Then, the results of the event are collected and published. 

GAPS designed the database and the web application. The project was led in three steps. The first one was to understand the problem inherent to such a complex domain. Then, the second step was a very complete establishment of the schema of the database alongside with the draft of the graphical user interface. For this, GAPS always worked in collaboration with the FIG to develop a personalized and thus efficient solution. Now the project is in implementation phase and the FIG is using the first release. The database is designed in PosrgeSQL and the implementation is in Play/Java and GORM (GAPS object relational mapping, developed by GAPS). This is a large project and three people are working on it.
