Development of instrumented shoe system for monitoring of foot movement and plantar forces.

An instrumented shoes system is currently under development at the Laboratory of Movement Analysis and Measurement, EPFL. The instrumented shoes can measure the plantar force of the user and the foot movement during walking periods. This system will be used to quantify daily activity of the users by combining signals from the sensors at the foot level. The system could also be used for sport applications to quantify different types of an athlete's movement.
